Aline Freeman Barrington, age 95 of Lexington, formerly of Bennettsville, passed away on June 19, 2023, after an illness.
Aline was born August 26, 1927, in Bennettsville. She was a daughter of the late Will and Carrie Sports Freeman. Aline was a longtime member of Salem Baptist Church. She always showed her Christian spirit by being a very sweet, kind, and loving woman. Aline also enjoyed traveling, and making sure everyone was fed. Most of all, Aline enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Aline was preceded in death by her husband, Fairley Barrington; a daughter, Nevada J. Barrington; brothers, Junius Freeman and Bobby Freeman; sisters, Lottie Freeman, Gertrude Haynes, and Annie Freeman.
Aline is survived by her sons, Larry Barrington (Betty Sue) and Jerry Barrington (Delorice), both of Bennettsville; daughters, Carolyn Barrington Davis (George T.) of Santee, Mary B. Brown (Russell) of Lexington; sisters, Edna McDowell of Blenheim and Willie Mae Turner of Mullins; grandchildren, Rodney Wallace, Crystal B. Clark (Scott Tate), Erika Mills (Robert), Lance Scott Barrington, Nicholas Barrington, Kevin Brown, Teresa Gault; great grandchildren, Zechariah Wallace, Ella Tallent, Sadie Wallace, Grayson Wallace, Anna Claire Barrington, Trey Mills, Lauren Mills, Nevada A. Barrington, Courtney Hathaway, Madison Brown; a great great grandchild, Layla Rose Wallace; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park.
A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2023 just prior to the service.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in Aline's honor to Salem Baptist Church 1618 Salem Road Bennettsville, SC 29512.
