Alton "Buddy" Freeman, Jr.

Alton “Buddy” Freeman, Jr. passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, at Atrium Health in Charlotte after an illness. He was 81 years old.

Alton was born on November 17, 1943, in Bennettsville. He was a son of the late Alton Sr. and Annie Garner Freeman. Alton worked as the director for 49 years over the lab at Delta Mills. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and watching westerns on tv. Alton also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Alton is preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Oxendine; a sister, Corrie Freeman Weatherford.

Alton is survived by his son, Alton Freeman III (Pansy) of Bennettsville; 4 step grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the graveside, following the service.
