Ameta Hall Obituary

Clio, SC

God called Ameta Lynn Hall to her heavenly reward on January 26, 2022.

She was born the daughter of Pastor Daniel McKay “Sonny” Hall and Linda Mumford Hall of Clio on January 20, 1972. Ameta attended Spartanburg Methodist College and Francis Marion University where she majored in Early Childhood Development. Her tremendous love of children lead her down many paths. She was a worker for The Children’s Defense Fund, a children’s caregiver, and tutor. Ameta was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church where she developed her love of music and singing. She served as Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Teacher/Coordinator at numerous churches for her father. As a member of the Marlboro Players Theater, she was in the cast of Grease and other productions. Ameta’s absolute “Happy Place” was on the beach, by the pool, or anywhere in the sun. She never met a stranger. Her all-encompassing smile and compassionate heart always left others better for meeting her.

Ameta is survived by her parents mentioned above; brother, Chesley McKay “Chet” Hall, and wife Courtney; a niece and nephew that she absolutely adored, Adalyn “Hyatt” Hall and Chesley “McKay” Hall, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Lila Hyatt Mumford; aunts, Barbara Mumford Hubbard and husband Clarence Windsor of Clio, Cynthia Clark Mumford of Dillon, Margaret Ann Rogers of Myrtle Beach, Ellen Rogers McClinton of Georgetown; special friend, Tina Driggers and husband Jeff.

She was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Albert Chesley Mumford, Sr.; uncle, Albert Chesley Mumford, Jr.; aunt, Lucille Mumford Wilson; paternal grandmother, Margaret Hall Smith; paternal great-grandparents, Daniel McKay Hall, Sr. and Rebecca Moore Hall.
