Alexa Anna Coxe Garland passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025. She was 47 years old.

Born April 6, 1977, in Bennettsville, SC, Anna was the daughter of James and Penny Coxe of Calabash, NC, formerly of Bennettsville, SC. She was a graduate of The Massage Therapy Academy of Raleigh, NC. Anna was a kind, sweet soul and always put others before herself. She was a ray of sunshine to everyone she met. She was a true follower of The Grateful Dead and loved her music; it soothed the soul. Her best and most beloved accomplishment was her beautiful daughter, Emma Grace.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory: her parents, listed above; beloved daughter, Emma Grace McDonald; Emma Grace's father, Chezley McDonald; sister, Mica Coxe Thomas (Sammy); niece, April M. McCallum (Creighton); great-nephew, Cole; bestie, Elizabeth Neill; and her beloved pup, Sonny.

She was predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents and a special cousin, David Colby Redick.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2025, at Burroughs Funeral Home in Bennettsville. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
