Arant Turner, age 88 of Bennettsville, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, after an illness.
Arant was born October 26, 1935, in Marlboro County. He was a son of the late Cleveland and Martha Quick Turner. Arant was a hard-working man. He was a jack of all trades. He was also very trustworthy. Arant was a man that would do anything for anybody. He was a friend to all. Arant enjoyed listening to music and dirt track racing. Most of all, Arant was a family man who loved Jesus. He adored his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Arant was preceded in death by brothers, Ray Turner and Edgar “Ted” Turner; a sister, Florine Knight; a son in law George Edward Ingalls.
Arant is survived by his loving wife of sixty seven years, Germaine Lilly Quick Turner of the home; a son, Wendell Arant Turner (Sherri) of Coats, NC; daughters, Joan Turner James (Roger) of Ellerbe, NC and Martha Turner Ingalls of Bennettsville; grandchildren, Curtis, Jennifer, Dina, Nikki, Jamie, Allan, Adam, Thomas, Dusty, and Georgia; great grandchildren, Taylor, Trevor, Marley, Rebecca, Wendell Shane, Hewston, Ethan, Clay, Makayla, Austin, Caitlin, James, Destiny, Bryson, Jacob, Hazelynn, Maven; great great grandchildren, Kaylee, Hunter, Olivia, and Alona; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.
A funeral service to celebrate Arant’s life will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Methodist Church. Burial will follow the service at Grant Turner Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home.
