Bennettsville, SC Whatever we do affects everything and everyone, even in the tiniest ways.
When a butterfly flaps its wings, a breeze goes round the world.
Ashleigh Page Sparkman Polston (36) passed away suddenly on Friday, March 31, 2023.
She was born in Scotland County on June 7, 1986. She was the daughter of Sam and Debra Sparkman.
Like a butterfly Ashleigh now flies free, but we will never forget her fun personality and the warmth of her smile. She was fun to be around and loved to have a good time. She was her own person and wanted to do things her way. She was outgoing and loved people. Ashleigh was blessed with a beautiful voice and a creative mind. We were blessed to have her, rejoiced when she was doing well, and suffered greatly when she wasn’t. We are devastated to be separated from our beautiful daughter, sister, and mother in this world.
Ashleigh was a former member of Christ United Methodist Church and an inactive member of First Presbyterian Church where she was active in the Presbyterian youth groups for several years. Ashleigh recently participated in and graduated from Changed Lives Ministry (CLM) recovery program in Moncks Corner, SC, and was baptized and joined Victory Baptist Church while living there.
Ashleigh was a 2004 graduate of Marlboro Academy and completed three years at Francis Marion University where she was a business major.
Ashleigh was predeceased by her husband, Curtis M. Polston, Jr.; paternal grandparents, W.C. and Vivian Page Sparkman; maternal grandparents, Otis and Brenda Freeman Watson; and uncles, Mitchell Watson and Tim Sparkman.
She is survived by her two precious daughters, Rosaleigh Page McDowell of Florence, SC, and Aubrey Elizabeth Polston of Cheraw, SC, her parents and a dear sister, Samantha Lynn Sparkman of Kerrville, TX. She loved her immediate family so much. She fought hard to win this battle and desperately wanted to be a good mother to her daughters.
Her aunts and uncles include Tammy and Jessie Brigman of Bennettsville, Randy and Cindy Watson of Traphill, NC, Tommy and Diane Carabo of Blenheim, Wayne and Nita Sparkman of Laurinburg, Alan and Alice Sparkman of McColl, Rev. Jeff and Sybil Sparkman of Seneca, Patrick and Laura Smith of Bennettsville, Donald Sparkman of Blenheim, and sixteen first cousins.
A funeral service will be held at Burroughs Funeral Home in Bennettsville, SC, on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Dr. Scott Andrews and assisted by Rev. Christopher Peagler. Interment will follow at McCall Cemetery in Bennettsville. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
