Mrs. Barbara Jean Deaver, 79, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15th, at Burroughs Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with burial at Sunset Memorial Park.
Born October 19, 1942, in McColl, S.C., Mrs. Deaver was the daughter of the late Daniel and Delilah Gause. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. She was a longtime resident of Bennettsville, S.C. before moving to Surfside Beach, S.C. in 1993. She enjoyed gardening, interior design, painting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Robyn Bennett (Gene) of Summerton, SC and Windy Freeman (Tim) of Garden City, SC; a son, Bo Deaver of Socastee, SC; a brother George Gause (Erlene) of Wagram, NC ; a sister Sheila Raby of Georgetown, SC; two sisters-in-law, Hannah Deaver of Conway, SC and Brenda Gause of Lexington, SC; a brother-in-law Gwyn Deaver of Sarasota, Florida; and three grandchildren, Storm Bennett of Lexington, SC; Annabelle Greene (Corey) of Spruce Pine, NC; and Colby Freeman of Garden City, SC. She is also survived by two great grandchildren: Ryan Shea Greene and Asher Greene.
Mrs. Deaver was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Delilah Gause and her stepmother, Helen Gause; her beloved husband James Ronald (Ronnie) Deaver; three brothers, Harvey Gause, Bobby Gause, and Joe Gause; brothers-in-law Howard Deaver and Craig Deaver; sisters-in-law Peggy Deaver and Elise Gause.
The family would like to express once again its heartfelt thanks to the staff at NHC Healthcare in Garden City.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
