Bertha Hodge

Mrs. Bertha Louise Webster Hodge passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at her residence. Mrs. Hodge was 87 years old.

Born in Orangeburg, SC on March 21, 1939, to the late Charlie Clifton Webster and Jessie Lois Peele Webster. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was employed by Oak River Mills before retiring after more than 30 years of service. She enjoyed going to church, all dogs, especially Dave, being with all of her daughters, her daily lunches with her friends at the Council on Aging, any church activity with her personal Uber driver who she fired many times but loved dearly, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Hodge was preceded in death by her parents listed above, her husband, Jimmy Woodrow Hodge; a daughter, Diana Hodge Horne; and a great-grandson, Joshua James.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; daughters, Deborah James (Timothy), Deloris Frye (Robin), Donna McGee (Jim Bob); 9 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM, Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Salem Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Byron Sherman, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

A visitation will be held just prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:00PM at the church.
