Betty Catherine (Pruitt) Usher

Betty Catherine Pruitt Usher, age 78 of Bennettsville, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at her residence.

Betty was born June 27, 1946, in Bennettsville. She was a daughter of the late Prentiss and Catherine Folk Pruitt. Betty attended Kingdom Life Church. She enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, and growing beautiful flowers. More than anything, Betty loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, David M. Usher, Sr.; brothers, Melvin Pruitt, Ebbie Pruitt, and Ricky Pruitt; sisters, Dorothy Ingalls and Bonnie Beard.

Betty is survived by her sons, David M. Usher, Jr. (Nancy) of Surfside Beach and Dennis Usher (Becky) of Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Brenda U. Tyndall of Bennettsville; a sister, Patricia Taylor (Tex) of Bennettsville; grandchildren, Heather Usher, Jessica Usher, Shannon Bryant, Katie Tyndall, Matthew Tyndall, Amanda Usher, Amber Usher; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Usher, Raymond Usher, Harvey Usher, Alex Bryant, Jackson Bryant, Jasmyn Usher, Bryana Hipkins, Autumn McDuffie, and Lyla Tyndall.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home.
