Billy C. Caulder, 75, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, September 12, 2025, after a period of illness.
Born on April 9, 1950, in Bennettsville, SC, he was the son of the late George and Lucille Milligan Caulder. Billy was a chicken farmer by trade and was known for his strong work ethic, sense of humor, and deep love for his family and friends.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, cracking jokes, drinking his black coffee, and spending time on his Bad Boy lawnmower and side-by-side. He had a special fondness for his beloved cat, “Pete,” and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Hendrix Caulder; daughters, Emma Caulder, Billicie Caulder, and Crystal Traywick; brothers, Paul Caulder and Buck Caulder; sisters, Carol Corbitt and Annie Mae Caulder; grandchildren, Brittany Caulder, Machaila Wilkes, Seth Boland, Hayden Gager, and Hunter Lane; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Caulder, Na’si Locklear, Brennlen Wilkes, Madalen Wilkes, Grayson Stubbs, Rylan Gager, and Layken Gager; and his best friend, William Gray.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Jesse Caulder and Billy William Caulder; his stepson, Daniel Lane; his brother, Pete Caulder; and his loyal dog, Bubba.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Pine Crest Cemetery in Gibson, NC. A visitation will be held from 5:00–7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Burroughs Funeral Home.
