Charles Vernon Hubbard, Sr., 88, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022, at his home after an illness.

Born May 3, 1934, in Tatum, SC, he was a son of the late Paul and Sallie Jones Hubbard. Mr. Charles married his wife, the late Ila B. Rodgers Hubbard, on July 24, 1955. He was retired form Covington Mills in McColl and was a member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Bennettsville, SC. Mr. Charles served in the S.C. National Guard for 3 years and then in the reserves for 8 more years. He enjoyed fishing and working on lawnmowers.

He is survived by his son, Robert Glenn Hubbard and wife Rebecca of Tatum, SC; grandchildren, Eric Hubbard (Megan), Sydney James (Errion), Kelsey Clark; great grandchildren, Carlin, Hayden and Everett Hubbard, Kingston and Kali James.

Mr. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Charles Vernon Hubbard, Jr., grandson, Robert G. Hubbard, Jr., brother, Paul Hubbard, Jr.

A memorial service with military rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022, in Tatum Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome at 155 W. Main St., Tatum, SC 29594.
