Charles "Chuck" Alford McCall

Charles “Chuck” Alford McCall, affectionately known as “Papa,” by his family and “Chuckie Baby” by his friends, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, at McLeod Florence. He was 70 years old.

Born August 12, 1952, Chuck was a son of the late James Kenneth and Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Ludlum McCall. He was employed 18 years with Essex Wire and was a retired Correctional Officer with Evans Correctional Institution with 25 years of service. Chuck loved golfing, was an avid Gamecock fan, and a D.J. He enjoyed the beach, Carolina beach music, shagging, and traveling. He also had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, listed above, and brother, Don McCall.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Anderson McCall of Bennettsville; daughters, Hope Hainey (George) of Bennettsville, Cindy Woodle of Lamar, Paige Skipper (Bud) of Bennettsville, and Mindy Perritt of Little Rock, SC; brother, Randy McCall (Deb) of Bennettsville; grandchildren, Anderson Blue (Amanda), Kersey Hunt, Eric Chavis, Laney Cullipher, Dawson Perritt (Brittany), and Hayden Perritt; great grandchildren, Paisley Blue and DJ Perritt; nieces, Caraline Harpe (Heath) and Katherine Nederostek (Doug).

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Burroughs Funeral Home with burial to follow in McLucas Cemetery in Clio.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., just prior to the service at the funeral home.
