David Louis McCaustland passed away suddenly on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Mcleod Health Cheraw. He was 64 years old.

Born July 5, 1958, in Wabash, Indiana, David was a son of the late Joseph and Carol Schedler McCaustland. He moved to Bennettsville in 2009 with Sopakco and retired from Huvepharma in 2019. David was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Simpsonville, SC. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed discussing sports with family and friends. He liked being outdoors and enjoyed his swimming pool and landscaping. He was also an animal lover and adored his many dogs over the years. He also enjoyed bird watching and most recently, caring for a turtle that nested in his yard. He will be deeply missed.

David was predeceased by his parents; infant daughter, Sarah Grace McCaustland; brother, James McCaustland; foster mother, Jacquie Kane; foster brother, Greg Kane; and sister-in-law, Linda McCaustland.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Maureen Gay McCaustland of the home; daughter, Caitlin McCaustland of Greenville, SC; brothers, Daniel McCaustland of Michigan and John McCaustland of Wisconsin; sisters, Mary Beth Schienbein (Peter), Marti Switlick, Sandy Patzke (Brian), and Julie McElligot (Tim) all of Wisconsin; foster brother, Doug Tadyeske; foster sister, Karen Whyms; nephews, Kevin McCaustland, Teddy Schienbein, Lucas Patzke, Quinton Patzke, Ryan McElligot (Stephanie), Justin Wendorf (Erin), Dan Wendorf, Joshua Koch, and Shane Koch (Leah); nieces, Christina Schienbein, Emma Patzke, Kristin Foehringer (Adam) , and Lisa Switlick; foster nephew, Justin Kane; foster niece, Elizabeth Kintop (Andy); and many other beloved family members and friends.

A service celebrating David’s life will be held at a later date.
