Edgar Brock age 83, of Bennettsville, passed away on April 13, 2023 after an extended illness.

Edgar was born August 21, 1939 in the Adamsville section of Marlboro County. He was a son of the late George and Nellie Huckabee Brock. Edgar was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Kenan Transport after many years of service as a truck driver. Edgar attended Calvary Baptist Church while his health would allow. He also enjoyed participating in the Marlboro Men’s Ministry. Most of all, Edgar enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Sara Frances Evans Brock, and a son in law, Keith Lackey.

Edgar is survived by his loving wife, Jewell Tedder Brock, of the home; sons, Keith Brock (Holly) of Beech Grove, TN., and Kevin Brock (Amy) of Hartsville; daughters, Regina Lackey of Bennettsville, Jill Bryant (Larry) of Scranton, and Jennie Davis (Shane) of Blytheville, AR; a sister, Vivian Cooper of Bennettsville; a special brother in law who was more like a son, Larry Evans (Pauline) of Bennettsville; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and his faithful K-9 buddy, Drizzle; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.

A memorial service to celebrate Edgar’s life will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at Calvary Baptist Church. Visitation will follow the service in the sanctuary.
