Edna Faye Clay Apgar, age 76 of Bennettsville, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, after an illness.
Edna was born November 7, 1948, in Marlboro County. She was a daughter of the late Billy and Beulah Clay. Edna was a good Christian woman who loved the Lord. She had a big heart. She found great joy in taking care of others. Edna loved to cook and enjoyed her time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward “Eddie” Apgar; a brother, Pumpkin Clay; sisters, Judy Taylor and Sue Altman.
Edna is survived by her son, Harvey Glenn Polston of Bennettsville; daughters, Jessica Apgar (William Barron) of Bennettsville, Crystal Jackson (Wally Bright) of Bennettsville, Stacy Apgar of Welcome, NC, and Tina McPherson (Charles) of Wallace; grandchildren, James Locklear, Andy Kersey, Destiny Jackson, Jarod Bethea; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service in McCall Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel.
