Edward "Skibo" Lee Ellis, Jr.

Edward “Skibo” Lee Ellis, Jr., 67, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.

Born July 20, 1956, in Lancaster, SC, he was a son of the late Edward Lee Ellis, Sr. and Shelby Jean Starnes.  He worked with Boggs Construction and the City of Bennettsville. Skibo enjoyed fishing, mechanic work, plumbing, and sitting under the shade tree.

He is preceded in death by his parents listed above, stepmother, Donnie Roberts, brothers, Bud Ellis and Tommy Hannah, sisters, Tammy Jacobs and Jackie Bailey, grandchildren, Cecil Ellis and Naveah Ellis.

Skibo is survived by his wife, Betty Dew Ellis, son, Patrick Ellis and family of Clio, daughter, Tracey Shields and family of Fayetteville, NC, sister, Mary Whitehead, brother, Charles Ellis, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2023, at Burroughs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. just prior to the service at the funeral home.
