Ethel Mae Taylor Jordan, 89, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at Cheraw Health Care in Cheraw, SC.
Born August 8, 1933, in Laurinburg, NC, she was a daughter of the late Charlie, Jr. and Ida Mae Hodge Taylor. She worked for many years at Firestone and So-Pak-Co in Bennettsville. She was a member of Bennettsville Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Jordan enjoyed working, gardening, and loved attending church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Jordan; sons, Raymond Jesse Jordan, Jr and Dennis Jordan; daughter, Barbara Williams; brothers, James, Willie, and Tee Taylor; sisters, Lillie Jordan, Eva Wallace, Margie Moore, and Mamie Ratliff; daughter in law, Linda Gale Jordan.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by sons, Jessie Jordan (Linda) of Cheraw, Johnny Jordan of Winter Haven, Fl, Harvey Jordan (Joanne) of Conway, SC, and Joe Jordan of Bennettsville; daughter, Louise Jernigan (Raffie) of Hamlet, NC; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Bennettsville Second Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Park. A Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at Burroughs Funeral Home.
