Evelyn Greene Hatcher

Evelyn Norton Greene Hatcher age 77 of Taylors, SC formerly of Clio, passed away on November 6, 2022 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial.

Evelyn was born July 2, 1945, in Dillon, SC a daughter of the late Richard and Katie Polson Norton. She worked for several years as a seamstress. Evelyn enjoyed shopping, coloring, and puzzles. She also loved her precious chihuahua, Boo Boo. Most off all, Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Fredrick Mason Greene and Charles Hatcher; and her two brothers, William Norton and Ervin Norton.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Smith of Taylors, SC; a stepson, Michael Hatcher of Clio; step daughters, Debbie English and Joy Hatcher, both of Wallace; sisters, Mary Katherine Williams and Katie Lee McLaurin, both of Clio; grandchildren, Brandon Michael Smith (Danielle) of Louisiana, Tiffany Nicole Smith and Taylor Danielle Smith, both of Taylors; and one great grandchild on the way. Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Burroughs Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at the McLucas Cemetery in Clio.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel.
