Faye West McDowell

Faye West McDowell, 88, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, at her residence after a brief illness.

Faye was born in Sanford, NC on May 24, 1934, to the late Callie Florence Scoggins and Oren Phillip Blalock. She attended public schools in Sanford, NC and was of the holiness faith. Most of her working career outside of the home was in textiles, however her number one priority was taking care of her family. She was loving and generous person. Faye enjoyed watching television, especially soap operas, reading, going to Wal-Mart, dining out and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above, husband, Jessie Lee McDowell; sons, Robert, Phillip and Terry McDowell.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Elaine Gray (Leon), Patsy Tucker (Sebe), Judy Barret (Billy), Shirley Rivers (Mike), Peggy Monezy; one son, Jessie Lee McDowell, Jr.; grandchildren, John Gray, Sharon Moore, Amanda Bethea, Samantha Tucker, Chris Tucker, Sebe tucker, Jr., T.C. and Jamie Erbschloe, Angela Johnson, Tasha Sierra, Wendy, Tracy and Stacy McDowell, Jessie C. McDowell (Boo Boo) who was like a son to her, and Brian and Justin Taylor; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Burroughs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
