George Henry Hucks

George Henry Hucks, age 77 of Bennettsville, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at his residence.

George was born January 6, 1947, in Bennettsville. He was a son of the late Henry and Carrie Pruitt Hucks. George was a faithful member of Victory World Outreach Center. He was known there as the “Victory Ranger.” George was a talented artist. He also loved animals. George was an avid sports fan. He was a big fan of the New York Giants, Boston Celtics, and Boston Red Sox. On Friday nights, George could be found supporting the Marlboro County Bulldogs. Most of all, George loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a wife, Lydia Zeagler; a brother, Jimmy Hucks; sisters, Dottie Hucks Dowdy, and Jean Hucks.

George is survived by a sister, Dorothy House (Craig) of Gaffney, SC; a niece, Tammy Figueiredo (Carlos) of Blenheim; nephews, Cody Figueiredo (Michelle) of West Hartford, CT, and Jake Figueiredo of Middletown, CT; grandchild, Leilani Zeagler of Lexington; several other extended family members also survive.

A memorial service is being planned and will be held at a later date.
