Jeannette Pevey Clark, age 81 of Bennettsville, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at her residence.

Jeannette was born September 25, 1942, in Bennettsville. She was a daughter of the late George and Annie Grooms Pevey. Jeannette attended Fletcher Chapel Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed reading scripture and Christian related books. Jeannette also enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching tv. She loved cooking, especially on the holidays. Most of all, Jeannette loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel “DP” Clark; brothers, Ricky Pevey, Henry Pevey, George Pevey, and James Allen Pevey; sisters, Christine Barrington and Judith Elaine Kinard.

Jeannette is survived by a son, Lawrence Walters of Bennettsville; daughters, Evelyn Walters of Bennettsville, Sharon Shropshire (Roy) of Cameron, NC, and Carrole “Angel” Rivers (Steve) of Bennettsville; a brother, Thomas Reece Pevey (Ginger) of Bennettsville; grandchildren, Heather Lee, Brittany Lee, Brandon Lee, Davan Rivers, and Erick Price; great grandchildren, Rashaun McCadney, Nevaeh Lee, Elijah Lee, Adelyn Lee, Jaxon Lee, Carlson Lee, Brantley Lee, Landon Lee, Bryson Lee, and Hunter Lee; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Fletcher Chapel in McColl, SC. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery in Gibson, North Carolina.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday February 18, 2024, at Fletcher Chapel in McColl, SC.
