Joan Marie (Gambel) Fravel

Joan Marie Gambel Fravel passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg, NC. She was 86 years old.

Joan was born April 21, 1936, at Lockport Memorial Hospital in Lockport, New York. She was a daughter of the late Robert and Bessie Six Gambel and was of the Catholic faith. She was employed with Corson Manufacturing in New York with 43 years of dedicated service where she was affectionately nicknamed “Bubbles” by her co-workers. Joan was an avid reader and never wanted to miss her Sunday paper. She enjoyed word puzzles, bingo, traveling, getting her nails done and cooking, especially baking around the holidays to share with family, friends, and co-workers. While living in Texas she especially enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center. She loved her weekly conversations with her children and will be deeply missed all who knew her.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis; and grandson, Mikey.

She is survived by her husband, John Scott Fravel, Jr.; sons, Michael Dean Webb, Sr. of Bennettsville, SC and Andrew Webb of Clear Water, FL; daughters, Linda Owens of Virginia Beach, VA, Michele Jaecks (Butch) of Cedar Creek, TX, and Mary Ann Gania (George) of Warren OH; grandchildren, Linda, Cheryl, David, Jr., Mike, Jr., Chell, Crystal, Justin, Matthew, Mitchell, Stephany, Tiffany; and 8 great grandchildren.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life service on Sunday, June 4, 2023, in Lockport, New York.
