Margaret Hendrix Quick “Bay”, age 85 of Bennettsville, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at her residence.

Margaret was born September 5, 1939, in Bennettsville. She was a daughter of the late Leroy and Edith Carpenter Hendrix. Margaret was a longtime member of Christian Fellowship Church and had a deep love for her church family. She retired from Marley Engineered Products after thirty-eight years. Margaret enjoyed reading and cooking for her family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her girls and her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty six years, Lewis Quick; a daughter, Mickell Boan; a grandson, Jamie Driggers; a brother, Joe Hendrix; and a sister, Clara Priest.

Margaret is survived by her children, Margaret Burks (David), Betty Driggers (Jimmy), and Derendia Freeman (Terry); a brother, Ernest Hendrix; sisters, Betty Jean Davis and Marie Browder; grandchildren, Waylon “WJ” Smith, Chris Burks (Hannah), Spencer Boan (Linda), Brooke Moody (Gage); great grandchildren, Tucker Burks, Sophia Allison, Mary Hannah Burks, River Moody, Raylen Boan, Aiden Cortes, Isabella Cortes; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the graveside beginning at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Margaret’s honor to Christian Fellowship Church 1615 Hwy 38 South Bennettsville, SC 29512. Or Crescent Hospice 1039 Cheraw Street Bennettsville, SC 29512.

The family of Margaret would like to say a special thank you to Crescent Hospice for their loving, compassionate care and to anyone who has called, sent a text, sent a card, or said a prayer for Margaret and her family.
