Mary Alice Burr, age 76 of Bennettsville, passed away at McLeod Hospice House on March 26, 2024, after an extended illness.

Mary was born July 31, 1947, in Chesterfield, SC. She was a daughter of the late James Murray and Helen McKenzie Burr. Mary worked for Sammy Thomas for over 25 years. She loved traveling and joking around with people. Mary had a love for music. She enjoyed being a DJ and singing karaoke. Most of all, Mary loved spending time and making memories with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a son, James Eddins.

Mary is survived by a son, Danny Eddins (Deanna) of Chesterfield; daughters, Teresa Preston of Bennettsville, Lynn Cheek (Leroy) of Chesterfield, and Teresa Self of Cassatt; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; many other extended family members also survive.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
