Mary Evelyn (Hays) Lott

Darlington/Bennettsville

Mary Evelyn Hays Lott, 85, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, at Bethea Baptist Health Care in Darlington, SC.

Born September 9, 1937, in Thayer, MO, she was a daughter of the late Archel Otto and Clessie Martin Hays. Mrs. Mary was a retired administrative assistant with the Department of Social Services and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Bennettsville. Mrs. Mary enjoyed sewing, all crafts, flower gardening, painting, football and basketball “March Madness”, bowling, traveling and baking. She made her children’s clothes when they were younger, taught the youth how to bowl, and was a member of the Senior Circle.

Mrs. Mary was preceded in death by her parents listed above; husband, Bobby Gene Lott; and brother, Charles Edward Hays.

She is survived by her children, Edward Eugene Lott (Terasa) of Darlington and Marilyn Sue Lott Wallace (Neal) of Bennettsville; niece, Daris Hays of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Daniel Brock Wallace and Joshua Philip Wallace; and great grandchildren, Brantley Wallace and Kylor Wallace.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Park in Bennettsville. A visitation will be held immediately following the service at the cemetery.
