Peggy (Liles) Bishop

Peggy Liles Bishop, 86, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022, at her residence after a brief illness.

Born May 29, 1936, in Bailey, NC, she was a daughter of the late William Hubert and Madie Baines Liles. Mrs. Peggy graduated from Atlantic Christian College and was a retired public-school teacher. She was a member Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the WMU. She was very missioned minded, and her favorite mission was Lottie Moon. Mrs. Peggy was a former president of the Marlboro County Humane Society.

She is survived by her sons, William Carlton Bishop and wife Christy of Scranton, SC, and Keith Bishop of Bennettsville; sister, Maxine High and husband Tony of Bailey, NC; grandsons, Forbes Bishop, and Brett Bishop.

Mrs. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. J. Monte Bishop; and brothers, Ned Liles and Billy Liles.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Burroughs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. just prior to the service at the funeral home.
