Prentiss Daniel Dew

Prentiss Daniel Dew, age 75 of Cheraw, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at McLeod Health Cheraw after an illness.

Prentiss was born on July 31, 1950, in Bennettsville. He was a son of the late Coleman Beasley and Sally Frazier Dew. Prentiss was a very talented artist. He loved to draw and could draw anything. Prentiss was a simple man, who often kept to himself.

In addition to his parents, Prentiss was preceded in death by brothers, David Dew, Carroll Dew, Charles Dew, and Thomas Dew, Sr; a sister, Lillie Mae Usher. Prentiss is survived by a brother, Coleman Dew (Flora) of Hamer; a sister, Marilyn Dew Wilson of Bennettsville; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at McCall Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the graveside after the service.
