Ray Douglas “Doug” Clark, Jr., age 74 of McColl, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, after an illness.
Doug was born on April 20, 1950, in Bennettsville. He was lovingly raised by his grandmother, Lula Clark. Doug was a retired electrician. He attended McColl Church of God. Doug was a proud veteran who served in the United States Air Force. He loved riding around McColl and talking with his friends. Doug also loved going to Virginia to visit with family. He enjoyed watching wrestling and westerns. Doug also enjoyed shagging. Most of all, Doug enjoyed spending time with his family, and his “Baby Girls.”
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by a sister, Teressa Maurer Locklear, and his good friend, Melvin Grooms.
Doug is survived by his wife, Linda Hunt Clark of the home; a son, William “Andy” Callaway of McColl; a daughter, Shannon Quick of Laurinburg, NC; grandchildren, Kaylee Quick of Laurinburg, NC, and Ashley Quick of Hamlet, NC; a great grandchild, Christopher Yanick; nieces, Sheyanne Locklear-Odom of Bennettsville, Salina Maurer and Brianna Barnes of Arizona; nephews, Anthony Locklear and Chris Locklear, of McColl; several other extended family members also survive.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at McColl Church of God. Burial will follow the service at Rogers Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home.
