Rebecca “Becky” Greenway Armstrong passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg. She was 96 years old.
Born September 12, 1926, in Elberton, GA., she was a daughter of the late Coy and Lorena Carter Greenway. Becky was a graduate of Anderson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and a retired Senior Public Health Nurse with Marlboro County Health Department. She was a member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, the Friendship Bible Class, and a former member of the Garden Gate Garden Club.
Becky was predeceased by her parents; husband of 46 years, Samuel Armstrong; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; nephew, Bob Harvin Jr.; and niece, Jeannie Harvin Vuicich.
She is survived by her beloved twin sister, Betty Greenway Harvin; nephews, Larry Greenway (Monica) and Randy Greenway (Dianna); nieces, Lynne Eaves (Mike), Suzanne Hand, and Kathy Doughty (Mark); great nephews, Mark Doughty Jr. (Kelli), Austin Doughty (Victoria), Samuel Eaves, Benjamin Eaves, Jeffrey Greenway (Cynthia), and Chad Rice; great nieces, Elizabeth Carter Alston, Greta Hand, and Courtney Blume (Chris); great great nephew, Landon Blume and great great niece, Jada Bryant.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Larry Zaky.
