Rev. Theodore Kirby went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, after an illness. He was 88 years old.
Rev. Kirby was born in Blenheim, SC on May 3, 1933, to the late Addison and Emily Freeman Kirby. He was a member of Victory World Outreach Center. He worked many years in the textile industry for Essex Wire, then in maintenance for the housing authority, and retired as a gas attendant for Billy Freeman. He loved studying the Bible, listening to Southern Gospel Music, visiting and praying for people, he was a true prayer warrior, watching Heartland, farming, cutting grass, and spending time with his family.
He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory; wife, Avon Swann Kirby; sons, Andy Kirby (Laura), Woodrow Kirby (Sheila), and Charles Kirby; daughters, Diane Sylvester (Phillip), Kathy Shoemake, Joann Warr (Randy), Frances Locklear (Evans), Zoa Welch, and Theodora “Dora” Locklear; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; his cat, Ms. Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Donald Gene Kirby and brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held 3pm, Friday, February 25, 2022, at Victory World Outreach Center, officiated by Revs. JR Chavis, Brock Jeffcoat, James Freeman, and Brian Howard, with burial at Sunset Memorial Park. A visitation will be held 6-8pm, Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Victory World Outreach Center.
