Richard Carrington McQueen

Richard Carrington McQueen age 73, of San Francisco, CA, formerly of Clio, SC, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023, after an extended illness.

Richard was born March 2, 1950, in Bennettsville. He was a son of the late Fred B. and Sara Waddell McQueen. Richard was raised in Clio. After high school, he went on to the University of South Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He served in an administrative role with Allied Universal until his health declined. Richard enjoyed traveling. He also enjoyed walking and exploring his neighborhood.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his twin brother, John F. McQueen and brother, Martin W. MacQueen.

Richard is survived by his nephews, F. Scott McQueen and wife Christy of Indian Land, and Marc E. McQueen and wife Carson of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Bonnie K. MacQueen of Indian Land; and several other extended family members.

A graveside memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the McLucas Cemetery in Clio. Family will receive friends after the service, at the graveside.
