Bennettsville
Mr. Robert Lee Graham, age 91, passed away Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, after a brief illness.
Born March 14th, 1933, in Clay, Indiana. He was a Son of the late Charles and Bertha Graham. He attended Indiana State College and was employed with Republic Contracting Corp and was an Army veteran. He was a member of the Bennettsville First Church of the Nazarene where he wore many hats. In his spare time, he enjoyed and excelled at gardening, cooking and playing pinochle with his late wife. He was a former Boy Scout leader of troops 241 of Bluffton, SC and 625 of Bennettsville. He loved camping with the Scouts and cooking for them, earning the nick names "Mel" and "Chili Master". He also loved going out in the community and sharing the crops of his garden.
He is survived by his daughters, Candia Tucker of Syracuse, NY, Lynn Godfrey (Mark) of Portland, OR; sons, Robert Schleich (Angela) of Jacksonville, FL, Charles Schleich (Kathrine) of Charleston, SC, Michael Schleich of Cincinnati, OH, Anthony Chiavaro (Jennifer) of Bennettsville, SC; his brother Paul Graham of Bridgewater, VA; his sister Sue Sheffield of Huntsville, AL; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 16th at the Bennettsville First Church of the Nazarene. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert Lee Graham, Jr, his dog Cookie and his loving wife Virginia Kathryn Graham.
