Roosevelt Barton, age 75 of Rockingham, NC, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at his residence.

Roosevelt was born September 1, 1949, in Robeson County, North Carolina. He was a son of the late Leroy and Arzella Locklear Barton. Roosevelt enjoyed watching classic westerns and wrestling. He also enjoyed being around horses. Roosevelt also loved to dance. He was a huge fan of the Washington Redskins. Most of all, Roosevelt loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Roosevelt was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Caroline Barton; brothers, Herbert Barton and Larry Barton; sisters, Catherine Hunt and Hazel Caulder.

Roosevelt is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Ann Barton of Center, TX and Rebecka Ard (Justin) of Rockingham, NC; a grandson, Brandon Lee Cummings of Rockingham, NC; a special companion, Kimberly Goodman of Center, TX; a special niece, Joelanda Hunt of Bennettsville; a special friend, Tammy Steptoe of Center, TX; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will be held at a later date.
