Roy Lee Daniels, age 89 of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Bennettsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

Roy was born December 29, 1934, in Taylorsville, NC. He was a son of the late Paul and Mozelle Mitchell Daniels. Roy was a former police officer in Bennettsville. He also worked as an analyst planner for Galey and Lord. Roy was a member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #88. Roy enjoyed tinkering and metal working.

In addition to his parents and his siblings, Roy was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Jacquelyn C. Daniels.

Roy is survived by his daughter, Sherry D. McColl of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter, Suzanne Dolwick and husband John, of Wilmington, NC; nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends after the service. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Roy requested that memorial donations be made to Thomas Memorial Baptist Church 308 W. Main Street Bennettsville, SC 29512.
