Sarah Tryphena “Tri” Williams Odom, widow of Arthur Brooks Odom, Sr., passed away peacefully, Monday, March 23, 2026, at Palmettos of Parklane after an illness. She was 96 years old.
Tri was born in Greenville, SC on December 24, 1929, to the late Praylow Goodwin “P.G.” and Hattie Viriginia Pressley Williams. She was an active member of the First Methodist Church of Bennettsville, where she taught Sunday School and serving on many committees, of which one of her favorites were the Senior Trips. She was also a Charter Member of the Billy Raley bible class and the energetics. She worked at AT&T, was a bookkeeper for Odom’s Farm, and was a CNA, but first and foremost a homemaker.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; daughter, Virigina “Jenny” Odom Gantt and husband Steve; granddaughter, Brooke Odom Moody and husband Gage; 3 great grandchildren, Sophi, River, and Lake; daughter-in-law, Derendia “Bubba” Freeman; sister-in-law, Abbie Williams; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above; son, Arthur Brooks Odom, Jr.; brothers, Wallace, Toney, Lemont, and Dizzy Dean Williams; sisters, Frances Spencer and Dothula Bowles, and special friend, Charles O’Neal.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Taylor Coates.
The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at the First Methodist Church of Bennettsville Family Center after the graveside service.
The family would like to express with sincere thanks to Tri’s cherished family at the Palmettos of Parklane, and to the Hearts of Hospice team for their thoughtful and attentive care. A special note of gratitude to Erica, Iesha, and Felicia for their steadfast dedication and heartfelt kindness.
