Shirley Anne Rogers Wood, age 84 of Concord, NC, formerly of Bennettsville, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

Shirley was born March 18, 1941, in Bennettsville. She was lovingly raised by the late Charlie and Alice Rogers. Shirley was very religious. She enjoyed attending church and listening to gospel music, especially the Gaither’s. Shirley was a hard worker and enjoyed shopping at Wal-Mart. Shirley will be remembered as a wonderful mother who loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Renee Chavis; brothers, Jesse Rogers and Ernest Rogers.

Shirley is survived by her sons, George Randy Chavis (Donna) of Belmont, NC and Michael Gene Chavis (Phyllis) of Lake Wylie, SC; daughters, Judy Chavis Kirkpatrick (John) of Harrisburg, NC and Tina Chavis Duncan (Ken) of Kannapolis, NC; stepson, Steve Bolen (Karen) of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Jeffrey, Cameron, John Michael, Lauren, Michael Corbin, Brittany, Haley, Aubree, Jason, Josh, Jessica; great grandchildren, Anna, Emma, Elin, Ella John, Averie, Nolan, Madelyn, River, Skye Renee, Giuliana, Shane, Reese, Maverick, and Tucker; several other extended family members also survive.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chavis Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
