Thomas Milton Stubbs, Sr., age 85 of Mt. Holly, NC, formerly of Bennettsville, passed away at his residence on February 10, 2026.

Milton was born February 18, 1940, in Bennettsville. He was a son of the late Woodrow and Harriett Brewer Stubbs. Milton was a graduate of Bennettsville High School and was a former Green Gremlin football player. He was known as a “Fatback” to his teammates. Milton always looked forward to class reunions so he could reconnect with old friends. Milton worked many years as a welder. Milton also enjoyed traveling and going to eat at Stanton’s BBQ. More than anything, Milton was a simple man who was a friend to everybody. He was never one to complain about anything. Milton loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, Milton was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Brock Stubbs; brothers, Woodrow Stubbs, Jr. and Eddie Stubbs; and a sister, Ann Kirby.

Milton is survived by his sons, Thomas Milton Stubbs, Jr, of Mt. Holly, NC and Charles Scott Stubbs of Bowie, TX; a sister, Tina Stubbs of Bennettsville; four grandchildren; his special friend, Dolly Vozella of Beaufort, SC; a special sister in law, Bari Stubbs of Bennettsville; nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service in Sunset Memorial Park.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday one hour prior to the service beginning at noon at Burroughs Funeral Home.
