Mrs. Virginia Gaskins Williams, widow of Edward Lonnie Williams, passed away, Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Grand Strand Medical Center after an illness. She was 95 years old.
Virginia was born in Glennville, Ga., on August 16, 1926, to the late English and Jessie Gaskins. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was the owner and operator of Williams Motel in Bennettsville for 50 plus years. She enjoyed bird watching, shopping, watching Golden Girls, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by: daughter, Pat Cadenhead and husband Dr. Charles Steve Cadenhead; grandchildren, Caradine “Tripp” Brown, Tracy McDonald, Jennifer Brown, and Annette Brown; great grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Constance McDonald-Diminich, Allan McDonald- Diminich, and Nicholas Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above; daughter, Ann Brown; sons, Freddie Williams and Ted Williams; sisters, Jane Quick and Dorothy Bradford; brothers, Fred Gaskins and Douglas Gaskins.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Burroughs Funeral Home, with burial at Sunset Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Taylor Coates. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
